So much to experience

At Stanstead College, students have opportunities to experience everything that comes along with living and interacting in a diverse, supportive community. In addition to boarding with friends from around the world – Canada, the United States, Mexico, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, France, Russia, to name just a few – Stanstead students can express themselves creatively and socially through clubs, weekend activities, school events, as well as academic and service trips.

Residential Life

Stanstead College has four residences – Bugbee House for junior boys, Colby House for junior girls, Davis House for senior boys and Webster House for senior girls. Each one has its own character but all of them offer safe, nurturing environments for students from around the world to live and work together. While each residence is overseen by house directors, teachers-on-duty and student prefects who make sure the environment is one of respect and cooperation, students develop a strong sense of independence and responsibility living away from home.

Faculty Advisors

Each Stanstead student is assigned to an advisor who follows the student's academic progress, troubleshoots when necessary and generally helps ensure that the student is getting the most out of his or her experience at the school. The advisor also acts as the liaison between the school and the student's parents. It's a relationship that ensures no student falls between the cracks.

LeBaron Dining Hall

Stanstead College has a fully equipped dining hall offering a variety of healthy entrées, soups, salads and more during every meal, including vegetarian options. Family-style lunches with assigned seating are another way for students to meet and interact with their peers in a pleasant, courteous setting.

Eric T. Webster Student Centre

The student centre is a popular meeting place for students during free time. Equipped with a giant-screen TV, projector, music system, pool table, ping pong and foosball, the centre is a place to relax and meet up with friends. It's also home to the school's Tuck Shop, where students can purchase school supplies, snacks and Stanstead College clothing and gifts. Powered in part by solar energy, the Student Centre is also home to the school’s “Green Zone.”

Outdoor Sports Facilities

During free time, many students take advantage of the outdoor tennis courts and soccer fields, in addition to the outdoor basketball court that in the winter converts to an outdoor hockey rink.

Health Services

Stanstead College has 24-hour nursing coverage and clinics throughout the day. There is a qualified nurse on staff and on-call nurses during weekends. A full-time student counsellor is also based in the Health Centre to respond to the emotional needs of the students. In addition, a doctor comes to the school once a week to attend to the students' health needs.
